April Update

Sorry it’s been so long since our last post, we were hoping our first update would be more positive. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a setback. After two months of searching, we had found a great space just around the corner from the old Light Waves but literally the day before we were to sign the lease two of our partners pulled out of the whole venture. This meant we had to pass on the space and renew our search efforts. By necessity, we have widened our search to the whole bay area, but rest assured, if we end up outside of San Francisco we will still have a drop off and pick up point within the city. We are making every effort to find a suitable location as fast as possible, but realistically it might be a few more months. We hope you can continue to remain patient, and we thank you all for the encouragement you have given us these last few months.

Sincerely,

Dirk and Jesse

After over 30 years Light Waves will be closing! Michael Pazdon, the owner of Light Waves, is retiring and is in the process of selling the building at 130 Russ St. I am partnering with Jesse Hitchins, Matt Osborne, Gordon Szeto and Alson Tom to open a new lab to serve the needs of the SF photo community. Gamma Black & White will also be a part of this new venture. We are currently looking for the perfect location in the SOMA area of SF and hope to be open sometime in the first quarter of 2017. I want to personally thank all of you who have been our customers. I feel blessed to have met and worked with such amazing photographers over these last 20 years! I look forward to continuing to work with many of you and creating the best pro photo lab San Francisco has ever seen.

Dirk Hatch,

Manager of Light Waves
